Streamsong Resort sits on 16,000 acres of reclaimed phosphate mining land in Bowling Green, roughly eighty miles southeast of Tampa. The terrain phosphate extraction left behind, sand ridges, deep depressions, and elevation changes that have no business existing in central Florida, is the reason three of America's most respected course architects agreed to build here. This itinerary plays all three championship courses in sequence, adds The Chain for a late-afternoon session, and keeps you on property for the duration.

Trip at a Glance
Fly into Tampa International Airport (TPA) and drive eighty miles southeast to Bowling Green. Orlando International (MCO) is an alternative at roughly ninety miles and ninety minutes of driving.
The Red course occupies the most visually dramatic portion of the property. Tom Doak routed it through the tallest sand ridges on the site, and the elevation changes produce views and shot values that would be extraordinary anywhere and are startling in Florida.
Gil Hanse's Black course opened in 2017, five years after Doak's Red and Blue, and the design philosophy differs in ways that become legible after playing the earlier courses. Hanse's bunker style is more minimalist, the green complexes are larger, and the conditions are built for firm and fast play.

Trip Logistics
Plan the Practicalities
A rental car is needed for the drive from the airport but unnecessary during the stay. Streamsong is a self-contained resort, and all golf, dining, and activities operate on the property. Rental cars from Tampa run $30 to $60 per day. The resort is guests-only for golf; you cannot play without staying overnight. All three championship courses encourage walking, and caddies are available for each round. Peak season runs November through April, with the best weather and highest rates. Off-peak summer rates reduce green fees by roughly $100 per round, but afternoon thunderstorms are a daily occurrence from June through September. Stay-and-play packages booked directly through the resort offer the best combined pricing.
