A rental car is not strictly necessary if your plans stay on the PGA Frisco campus. The Omni resort, both courses, and the PGA District are all walkable from the hotel. A car becomes useful only for the Legacy West and The Star excursion, which is a short ride-share trip. For golfers arriving from DFW or Love Field, a ride-share to the resort and back is a viable alternative to a rental, particularly for a two-night stay where the car would otherwise sit in the hotel lot. March through May and September through November are the best months. Summer weekends are possible with early tee times, but afternoon temperatures exceeding 95 degrees from June through August compress the comfortable playing window to the morning hours.
