The property

The Inn on Woodlake sits inside the Destination Kohler campus, next to The Shops at Woodlake, looking out over an 11-acre lake with a putting green and a private beach. The 121-room AAA Three Diamond property shares the resort shuttle to Whistling Straits and the same golf-package access as The American Club, at roughly half the nightly rate. An expansion adding 66 rooms is under way, with completion targeted for June 2027.

What to expect

The value math is hard to argue with. Free breakfast, an indoor pool, a spa and wellness centre with sauna and hot tub, complimentary yoga and cycling classes, and resort shuttle service all sit inside the nightly rate. Taverne on Woodlake handles on-site dining. Dog-friendly rooms are available, which matters for road-trippers driving up from Chicago or Milwaukee. The setting is more casual than The American Club, with the lake, the walking paths, and the retail village creating a relaxed feel that suits golfers travelling with families. Blackwolf Run is five minutes away by car, and the shuttle to Whistling Straits keeps the golf logistics identical to its more expensive neighbour.
