The property

Blue Harbor Resort sits on the Sheboygan lakefront on Lake Michigan, roughly five miles from Blackwolf Run and fifteen from Whistling Straits. The property offers 183 suites ranging from 500 to over 1,900 square feet, plus 64 villas with full kitchens. Every suite includes a microwave and mini-fridge; villa configurations comfortably accommodate groups of six or more.

What to expect

The defining feature is Breaker Bay, a 54,000 square-foot indoor waterpark kept at 84 degrees year-round, with the only double surf simulator in eastern Wisconsin, plus slides and a lazy river. Day passes run $40 per person, with community night pricing of $20 on Thursdays. For golfers whose families or partners want a full day of activity while the group plays 36 holes, Breaker Bay solves that problem decisively. Four on-site restaurants, an arcade, indoor mini golf, a spa, and a fitness center extend the non-golf options.

The trade-off is distance from the Kohler resort campus. Blue Harbor does not participate in Destination Kohler's shuttle service, so you'll need a rental car. The five-mile drive to Blackwolf Run is straightforward; the fifteen miles to Whistling Straits takes roughly 25 minutes.

Rates and booking
