Avondale Golf Club

Avondale is the budget anchor of the Coeur d'Alene golf market, sitting eight miles and fifteen minutes north of downtown in Hayden Lake. Melvin Hueston built the original layout in 1968, and Mark Rathert modernised the routing in 1996 while preserving the mature tree-lined corridors that give the course its character. It's a member-owned club that welcomes public play, and weekday rates start around $55.

Mountain views appear throughout the round, framed by ponderosa pines and birch. The design is traditional in the best sense: defined fairways, visible hazards, greens that reward well-struck approach shots, and a routing that builds naturally toward stronger holes on the back nine.
