Sheboygan County packs more independent breweries into its footprint than the population suggests, making for a self-guided post-round circuit that fills the gap between the 18th green and dinner.
The informal trail covers 3 Sheeps Brewing Company, 8th Street Ale Haus (operating as Sheboygan Beer Company), PetSkull Brewing, Hops Haven, Cool City Brewing Company, Plymouth Brewing Company, Bare Bones Brewery, and SwitchGear Brewing. There is no formal passport. Build your own loop around two or three taprooms that fit your route. 3 Sheeps is the largest and most widely distributed; the smaller rooms like PetSkull and Plymouth are where the brewer is often working the bar and happy to talk through the beer.
Tasting flights run $5 to $15 per stop, and most taprooms either serve food or sit next to a place that does. Two to three hours covers two or three breweries comfortably. Hours vary by establishment, so check schedules ahead. The taprooms are spread across Sheboygan and the surrounding county, so designate a driver or use a ride-share app if you are visiting more than one. Most are within 15 minutes of Kohler Village.
