Sandhills Horticultural Gardens

A free, well-kept botanical garden on the Sandhills Community College campus in Pinehurst, run as a working classroom by the college's horticulture programme. One to two hours of easy, level walking, donation boxes at the gate.

The grounds combine formal and informal sections with native and ornamental plantings, water features, and shaded paths. Maintenance is notably better than you usually find at a community-managed garden, which is what happens when students treat the property as coursework. Gentle, level paths suit all mobility levels.
