The Lost Canyon Cave and Nature Trail is a 2.5-mile electric-cart circuit through a genuine Ozarks cave system and the forested hillside above it, set within the Top of the Rock complex at Big Cedar Lodge.
You ride the loop in an electric cart, which keeps the experience open to all ages and fitness levels. Inside the cave, lighting installations pick out the rock formations; outside, the trail passes through native vegetation with interpretive markers covering Ozarks ecology. It runs an hour or two and pairs naturally with a round on the Top of the Rock par-3 course and a meal at one of the complex's restaurants.
The cave itself is a real geological feature, not a constructed attraction, and the lighting is restrained enough to let it stand on its own. For families and non-golfers, this is one of the easiest things to recommend at Big Cedar.
Open seasonally, typically March through November, with extended evening hours Thursday through Sunday. Admission is $43 to $45 for adults with the cart included. Big Cedar guests get complimentary Top of the Rock entry, though the cave tour may carry a separate fee depending on the package. Cave temperatures stay cool year-round; bring a light layer.
