The light along the Beach Loop in the evening is the same light that makes the drive compelling, but experiencing it from horseback at the waterline adds a dimension a car cannot.
The experience
Rides follow the beach past sea stacks and tide pools, covering terrain that suits the slow pace a horse provides. The operation works for beginners aged six and older; no prior experience is required, and guides match horses to rider experience. One-hour rides go for $60; the 90-minute sunset ride is $80. This is the most popular non-golf activity near Bandon Dunes and the one most likely to leave a lasting impression on a non-golfing partner. Easy to combine with an afternoon round at Bandon Trails or Pacific Dunes if the timing works.
